Product Details
Kent calls this his "flowglow" because it is a straight flow-through fuel heater that uses a glow plug to produce the heat. Since the glow plug is submerged in vegetable oil fuel, it is very efficient and will last a long time. WARNING: If you turn it on with no fuel in the heater and leave it on for a long period, you will burn out the glow plug. The unit must be firmly grounded to the car's chassis to complete the electrical circuit. Do not use rubber mounts. You must use the metal mounts supplied and make certain that what you are mounting it to has a good ground connection to the chassis. Watch the video below for a full description of what is and what is not included in this kit.
The unit draws approximately 12 to 15 amps, so it will need a separate relay with a battery connection to power it properly. We provide that in our STC100 SVO conversion kit. The thermostat is normally closed (meaning the relay is activated to send power to the glow plug0. At 140 degrees F, it snaps open, cutting the power to the heater.

As of June, 2026, Kent will include the necessary switch and relay along with limited wiring and instructions. The included instructions will ONLY show to how the relay is wired to activate the glow plug through the thermostat.

On some heater units, you will receive mounting/ grounding clamps, shown below. They work just as well as the "full surround" clamps, and if installed as pictured. Make sure you have a clean ground from the clamp to the mount or body. Scrape off a little paint under the clamp if you need to to get a solid metal-on-metal contact.

IMPORTANT: Along with the heater, you should use an accessory electric pump to aid in delivering the veggie to the heating unit. If you purchase our fuel boost pump kit there is a place on the panel to add an extra switch and relay.
