9/25 Update: Green and Red Modulators are NLA, and we have been informed that they will not be remanufactured. But, do not panic! You may have heard that you must replace your 1981 to 1995 transmission modulator with the correct color top. We have just learned that this is not necessarily true. Sun Valley Transmissions has found that there is no real problem interchanging the red, green, and black cap modulators. There is a VERY slight difference in internal travel, but they have informed us that it can always be "adjusted out" to perform correctly. That is great news for older Mercedes enthusiasts.

Product Details
If you are experiencing very hard or less-than-perfect shifts, a failed transmission modulator could be the problem. This unit is an upgrade over the original. It has a better thrust pin design, which is less prone to cause pressure variations in cold weather. The new cap design allows for fine adjustment without having to pull out the adjustment T pin. New adjustment cap and thrust pin are included as shown.
Installation-only instructions are available for purchase separately. These are illustrated 6-page step-by-step instructions for the proper removal and installation of the modulator upgrade for the years and models noted here. Includes how-to specific details for using the new adjustment cap. These are installation instructions only. They DO NOT include information on adjusting transmission modulating pressure or the vacuum shift controls.
