Kent explains how it works

 The fill tube assembly includes a small filter to keep any particles out of your transmission, along with a valve that allows you to open and shut off the flow of fluid. The tube is the correct diameter to enter the bottom of the transmission pan and still allow it to vent for rapid filling. You will have to purchase your own tank.

BONUS: Kent includes a curved-tip wand you can use to fill your differentials and transfer cases under the car. It installs easily with the included removable clamp.
