I recommend that the oil separators on the M272 and M273 engines be changed every 40K miles to prevent excess oil from entering your intake manifold. It is best to change these breather hoses when replacing the oil separators, but they will sometimes last up to 100K miles, depending on how much they have been subject to heat.
