Why do you need all this just to replace the vacuum hose at the front of the intake manifold? The manual says you have to remove the intake manifold from the engine. If you don't want to remove the manifold and you have heard you can replace the hose by "splicing it in" the hard-to-reach bottom of the manifold, just try it.
